What Eugene says in this clip
In his February 2026 announcement, Eugene says he and his wife chose Clarkstown for its community, its schools, and its suburban way of life, and that the town is now at a crossroads, being reshaped by high-density developers and a business-as-usual culture at Town Hall. He cites more than 500 high-density units approved in New City alone, in places where the roads and sewers cannot absorb them.
He sets out his priorities: pause approvals and modernize the zoning code; shift the cost of traffic mitigation, infrastructure, and green space onto developers; end illegal housing with a code enforcement task force, maximum penalties, and no backroom settlements; open government, with every meeting livestreamed and unscripted ask-me-anything sessions with Town officials; and fiscal responsibility, cutting waste and patronage jobs to stop the spiral of property tax increases and focus on long-term debt repayment.
He describes himself as a public servant by trade and an entrepreneur who knows how to negotiate multimillion-dollar deals, balance a budget, and enforce the law, and asks residents to help build a Clarkstown that puts its residents first.
